Are We Mad 138?;Power- Salu Ayoola

I won’t bore you with the definition of power as we all know what power is, but I want to tell you that we possess immense power that we don’t know the usefulness, democracy is power by the people and for the people, oops I got it wrong? Never mind but simply put government is power.

We delegated our powers to politicians to rule and logically overall power of removal or revalidation still remains with us though we may not be aware.

Where did we get it wrong? COMPROMISE, we allow them to misrule as a result of our inability to comprehend governance and our greed for the crumbs from their tables, our greed is greater than our patriotism.

Initially, we complained about a lack of freedom of speech but with the advent of the internet, what are we doing with the excessive freedom? nothing. We are more concerned about other aspects of life, though some negligible successes were recorded in forcing them to do our bidings when we channel our efforts collectively.

The politicians are wiser, they set us against each other dividing our collective reasoning along with religion, ethnicity and APC /PDP with so many of their paid agents on social media and most of us innocently get sucked in, you cannot have a meaningful assessment of the situation without those destructive elements coming in.

I still gloriously remembered how we used our power to force IBB to step aside without firing a shot, we were then not divided as we are now
The desire for good governance is the latent power in our hands
We don’t discuss policies but party, we don’t demand our rights but ethnicity or religion.

The politicians do not rig elections we do it for them, he doesn’t campaign we campaign for him, we need to grow and wake up, rather than promoting our division we should project our unity in diversity as what you are facing in Kano is not different from what Tamuno is facing in Port Harcourt, what Chukwu is facing in Onitsha is not different from what OlaOluwa is facing in Ibadan, what Abdullahi is facing in Kebbi is not different from what Edokpolo is facing in Benin.

Let’s unite to fight common enemies that sit in Abuja to share our common welfare without religion and ethnicity or party affiliation, it’s our right to be properly governed.
Our conscience needs an orientational restructuring before we restructure our nation (please permit my grammatical expressions, I am trying to copy Prof Kongi)

I want to conclude with a coinage of mine – “POWER IN PEOPLE IS GREATER THAN PEOPLE IN POWER”
i am not APC or PDP I desire the best for Nigeria
