The senator representing Rivers South-East senatorial district in the National Assembly, senator Magnus Abe has blamed the stampede that occurred at the APC presidential campaign rally in Port Harcourt on poor crowd management techniques.
Senator Abe condoled with the families who lost their loved ones at the presidential campaign rally of the APC.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Parry Benson, the senator expressed regret over the unfortunate incident.
” The first thing I would say this morning, is to once again, extend my condolence to those who lost their lives at the stadium. It was actually very unfortunate.
Several times in the cause of campaigns in this country, this kind of incidents have occurred out of poor crowd management techniques, and sometimes over zealousness on the part of security agencies”, the senator stated.
Senator Magnus Abe who is the chairman, senate committee on Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), however commended APC party faithfuls for turning out en mass at the presidential campaign rally to give President Muhammadu Buhari a resounding welcome.
