Ambassador Desmond Akawor resigns as PDP State Chairman

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers State Chapter, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, has resigned and handed over his position to the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Chukwuemeka Aaron.

His resignation is coming on the heels of his swearing in today, as a Federal Commissioner at the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) representing Rivers State by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Africa Update had reported his nomination yesterday, which has culminated into his subsequent swearing in by Mr. President.

A letter addressed to the acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party has also surfaced, where he expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the party for the privilege to steer the ship of leadership in the State from 2020 to 2023.
