The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has bagged the Africa Man award during the maiden edition of the Trend setters awards, organised by Africa Update Newspaper and Springpoint Magazine on Saturday 7, 2019 at the Grace Place event centre in Rivers State.
The event which had several categories including most controversial politician which was won by Senator Magnus Abe and the most influential politician which was won by Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, had over 20 other categories which crisscrossed journalism, Nollywood, banking and other sectors.
Delivering her speech, the Publisher of Africa Update newspaper and Springpoint magazine, Gloria Boma Harry, said the Trend setters awards was organised to recognize excellence and the contributions of politicians and corporate institutions which had formed the crux of the journalism profession.
She disclosed that the TSA awards though designed as a global brand, focused on nominees and winners from Rivers state for the maiden edition.
Harry expressed gratitude to fans of Africa Update newspaper and Springpoint magazine for their loyalty over the years, resulting in the 8th and 13th anniversary of the media outfits. High-point of the event was the presentation of Niger Delta Hero award to Lt. Gen. Ken Minimah (Retd), for his meritorious service to the country.
