Funeral services for former heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali will be held Thursday and Friday, this week in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky,
The family spokesman, Bob Gunnell at a news conference on Saturday said the Legend’s body will arrive Louisville within 48 hours, ahead of a private ceremony for family scheduled to hold on Thursday, followed on Friday by a public celebration of his life.
He disclosed that an Imam will first hold a ceremony with the family on Friday morning before a large funeral procession will take Ali through the streets of Louisville to allown his fans, admirers and Residents to say goodbye.
“The procession will pass landmarks including the Muhammad Ali Center down Muhammad Ali Boulevard, through his old neighborhood, and then along Broadway in Louisville where many iconic photos of him were taken. A private ceremony will then be held at the cemetery.
“An interfaith service will be directed by the imam, that will include clerics from multiple religions, including Utah Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch representing the Mormon faith.”
He further stated that eulogies will be led by former President Bill Clinton, sports broadcaster Bryant Gumble and actor/comedian Billy Crystal
