AKULGA: Hon. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide put smiles again on faces of AKULGA

Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs) Tonye Briggs Oniyide, has once again put smiles on the faces of Akuku-Toru Local government Area.

Hon. Oniyide also reaffirmed her commitment and dedication, towards the growth and development of AKULGA

She made the reaffirmation during a familiarization meeting with staff of AKULGA.

The LGA Boss while commending the staff for turning out in the last election to vote her, assured them on a transparent and open door policy administration so that staff all staff enjoyes the dividends of democracy as well as a conducive and a , friendly working environment.

“I am one person that cannot operate and work in an atmosphere of insecurity. I love to work in serenity as such the first thing I will ensure to put in place is security personnel that would ensure to secure the lives and property of all living and doing business in AKULGA.

“But like I said, first thing first is to put our serenity in order, put security in place because security is key. I’ve been in Abonnema, but I was at the security meeting, which is paramount to us.

“But I will shock you. On a very serious note, when this council is being put together, just like my colleagues have actually done in various LGAs, I am one person that will always come to work. At least I will be in here almost on daily basis,” the council boss added.

Hon. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, while appealing to the staff to show commitment to work, also begged for their support to make Akuku-Toru great again.

“Please fellow women I need your support for the fact that I am a woman that God has given this opportunity to serve you all and you are of majority here.

“Please, I beg of all of you. If there is any reason, after we have put this council in place, that you cannot come to work. You have your departmental heads”

She also noted that there are several government facilities that needs urgent attention to in place such as the health centres, the market place for the women as well as the cemetery.

The AKULGA chairman, Hon. Mrs Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, also had a security meeting with the heads of the security agencies in area to familiarization meeting to know ourselves and to put forward some the challenges faced in the community as regards security.

Earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration of Akuku-Toru, Mrs Orusoso West, assured the brand new chairman of the full support of staff for her success.

Also speaking at the meeting, the chairman of NULGE comrade Okorie Bimanual, also commended the chairman, for her efforts and pledged their willingness to support her administration.

Highlights of the event was visit by Hon. (mrs) Tonye Briggs-Oniyide to some health centres in the area assuring that necessary steps will be taken in the soonest to put the place in order.
