A Rivers State High court sitting in Port Harcourt has ordered the nullification of all the congresses held by the All Progressive Congress, APC in the 23 local government area in the State.
Presiding Judge, Justice Chinwendu Wogu who gave the ruling also ordered that the Status-quo of the Rivers State APC remains the same as it was before the May 11 congress pending resolution of the matter before the court of law.
Addressing arguments on the notice of appeal brought before it by the State APC, the judge held that there were no records of appeal transmitted to the court or its registrar as claimed by the defense counsel, Tuduru Ede.
Defense counsel to the APC in Rivers State told journalists that he will appeal proceedings after consulting with his client.
Counsel to the aggrieved APC members in the 23 Local government area in Rivers State, Henry Bello described the ruling as restoration of the rights of the claimants
The court adjourned to June 26 for hearing of originating summons.
