Africa Update newspaper has won “The Newspaper of the year” award, at the median Media Award event organised by Mediaville Project NG, in Port Harcourt on Sunday May 6, 2018, at the Grace Place Event Centre.
In the keenly contested category, which had Beacon Newspaper, The Tide Newspaper and Independent Monitor Newspaper, Africa Update newspaper received the highest number of votes to emerge winner.
In her acceptance Speech, the founder and Publisher of Africa Update newspaper, Miss Gloria Boma Harry, commended the organisers of the event for celebrating hard work and achievements in the media industry.
She eulogised the brain behind the event, Isesele Ezekiel Osaze, for identifying media practitioners who have performed exceptionally and urged him to expand the event to cover more frontiers .
Highpoint of the event, Themed “Young and Celebrated”, was the presentation of awards to youths with outstanding achievements in the media space between 2017/2018.
