ADC Unveils Governorship, Deputy Governorship Candidates in 28 States for 2027

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled its governorship and deputy governorship candidates in 28 states ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party announced the candidates in a statement issued on Friday, describing the development as part of its efforts to present credible leadership and provide Nigerians with a viable political alternative in the forthcoming elections.

Among the prominent names on the list are former Labour Party Lagos governorship candidate Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, who will contest under the ADC in Lagos State; Isa Mohammed Ashiru in Kaduna; Chief Great Ogboru in Delta; Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita in Katsina; and former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, in Kebbi State.

The party also unveiled governorship candidates in other states, including Adamawa, Kano, Rivers, Oyo, Ogun, Plateau and Zamfara.

According to the ADC, the candidates will fly the party’s flag and campaign on its commitment to providing Nigerians with credible leadership and a “real alternative” ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party said each of the 28 governorship candidates had been paired with a deputy governorship candidate as it prepares to contest the elections across the states.
