Chief Magistrate Fatima Adamu has granted bail to a 29 year old housewife Sadiya Muhammad who was arraigned by the Gwagwarwa Police Division, Kano, on Friday for one count charge of gross indecency and fingering of a four year old girl, contrary to section 285 of the penal code.
The accused who pleaded not guilty, was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with two reliable sureties in like sum, the submission of two recent passport photographs and the verification of their residential and official addresses by the police. It was reported that she allegedly lured the four year old girl into a nearby house and inserted her finger into the victim’s vagina at about 7:30pm on April 11.
The victim was said to have been rushed to a specialist hospital after the incident.
The Prosecutor, Mr Sale Muhammad, told the court that Tijjani Abdulrahman of Tudun Murtala Quarters, Kano, reported the case to the police on April 12.
