As part of efforts to ensure active participation of individuals especially women, in the forthcoming general elections, the National council for women societies (NCWS) has taken its permanent voters card, PVC, sensitization campaign to Obio -Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Area respectively.
The President NCWS, Rivers State Branch, Princess Jetiba Soberekon JP and other members of the State Executive asked the people to collect their PVCs and vote for candidates that will change the narrative in Rivers State and Nigeria.
She noted that collection of permanent voters card is a guarantee for participating in the nation’s electoral process, urging them to go out and pick their PVCs to enable them cast their votes on the election day.
Princess Soberekon stressed the need for more participation of women in the electoral process and nation building. According to her since women represent a large population of the country, there is need for decision makers to get them adequately involved in Political activities, which will lead to the election of God fearing leaders who are committed to infrastructural development and good governance.
