2019 Elections: Pray for peaceful elections – ICE to religious bodies

The Initiative For Credible Elections (ICE) has urged Religious bodies and Faith based organizations in Rivers State to sensitize their members about free, fair, non-violent 2019 elections.

Convener of Initiative for Credible Elections, Ledum Mitee said this during a prayer summit for a peaceful election in Rivers State held in conjunction with Fire Brand Ministers Forum in Port Harcourt.

Ledum Mitee said Religious Leaders owe the duty to pray for God’s intervention in the forthcoming elections.

” The churches and the ministers have a lot of contact hour with ordinary citizens through their programmes. One thing we expect apart  from the divine intervention we are praying for in events like  this, it is a means of mobilizing them to take this message up  their members, because those people who perpetrate violence, most of them go to churches.

At least in this part of the World, for once let us do an election that all of us who went into the election can go out of the election feeling happy that our will has been reflected by the result of the election and also that all of us who went into the election do not have a scratch on body because of violence and or that we shed any pint of blood”, the former MOSOP President stated.

A co-convener of the Initiative For Credible Elections, Dr. Sofiri Peterside also joined in urging the Christian Community to pray for a  peaceful elections.
