Over 200 people have benefited from a free medical outreach jointly organised by Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Pheonix, Port Harcourt Crystal Lions, Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board and Med Events by Chi, at Oroworokwo town hall in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.G
The outreach which took place on July 2nd, is the first project embarked upon by the President of Rotary Club of Port Harcourt Harcourt Pheonix, Rotarian Ozoya Esezobor, signalling the beginning of the new Rotary year, that started on July 1.
Speaking at the sidelines, Rtn Esezobor noted that the free outreach, was organised to address the medical challenges experienced by individuals, particularly during this period of economic crunch.
He disclosed that drugs and consultancy services were fully funded by his Club and partners.
Rtn Esezobor said: “a lot was achieved in the areas of Maternal and Child Care and Disease Prevention and Treatment. We attended to many, with all going through the process of evaluating their vital signs, investigative laboratory testing, consultation with the doctors, pharmacy issuing prescribed drugs, health counseling and talks especially on cervical cancer, optical checkups,.
“Prescribed eye glasses were distributed and all these services were totally free. The testimony from the beneficiaries was a true testament of the impact of the project.”

Africa Update reports that General Checks, BP checks, blood glucose test, other lab investigation, health talk/ general counseling, drug dispensing, free consultancy and urinalysis for pregnant mothers, issuance of routine drugs to pregnant mothers , eye checks / issuance of reading glasses were part of the freebies at the outreach.
