The Director General, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr Dakuku Peterside, has accused Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, of being responsible for the black soot, which has enveloped the environment.
He said polices of government, reportedly lack the capacity to provide employment for the youths in the state, who engage in the illegal refining of oil, which is causing serious health issues in the state.
He made the assertion on Friday, April 6, 2018, during a grand reception organised by the Free Rivers Development Initiative, in honour of the former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and himself, at Opobo Nkoro local government area.
Peterside, expressed appreciation to Amaechi for the love and care he has shown not just to the people of Opobo/Nkoro but also to the entire State, describing him as a symbol of good governance.
