Rome, Italy — Renowned Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani has passed away at the age of 91. The news was announced on Thursday, September 4, by the Armani Group, the company he founded and led for decades.
In a statement, the fashion house described Armani as “our creator, founder, and tireless driving force,” noting that he died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Affectionately known as “I1 Signor Armani” by his employees, the designer was said to have remained actively involved in his company and ongoing projects until his final days.
Known for his timeless and elegant designs, Giorgio Armani built a global fashion empire that defined the aesthetic of modern power dressing. His funeral will be held privately, in accordance with his wishes.
