The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended prominent Lagos socialite and businessman, Emeka Okonkwo Daniel, popularly known as E-Money, for alleged currency abuse.
EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed the arrest to the press on Tuesday.
Sources indicate that E-Money was taken into custody at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos on Monday night. This followed an event where he was reportedly observed spraying United States dollar notes.
According to reports, preliminary investigations are currently underway, and the suspect is expected to face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
