Contrary to initial reports of kidnapping and murder, the Nigeria Police Force has clarified that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, died in an Abuja hotel following a visit from a female companion.
The FCT Police Command, through Public Relations Officer SP Josephine Adeh, released a statement detailing the circumstances surrounding Parradang’s death. On March 3, 2025, at approximately 12:00 PM, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He paid for a one-night stay and subsequently requested a hotel attendant to escort a female guest to his room. The woman departed the hotel around 4:00 PM that same day.
Parradang remained in his room after her departure. The following morning, March 4, 2025, at approximately 4:00 AM, a concerned military officer, a friend of Parradang, traced him to the hotel. Upon entering the room with hotel staff, they discovered Parradang deceased, seated in a chair.
The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified. Officers secured the scene, documented evidence, and transferred the body to the National Hospital for further examination. Hotel staff are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
Police are actively pursuing the female guest for questioning. The FCT Police Command urges the public to refrain from disseminating unverified information, particularly claims of kidnapping, which could incite unnecessary fear. They have assured the public of a thorough investigation to determine the exact circumstances of Parradang’s death and bring clarity to the situation.
