Rivers State Government says there will be no gate fee in the Miss University Africa beauty pageant taking place on Saturday 2nd December, 2017 at the Dr Obi Wali International Conference Centre.
This is contained in a statement issued yesterday in Port Harcourt by the Hon Commissioner for Information and Communications Barr Emma Okah.
“The Governor of the State His Excellency has paid for all the seats and asked Rivers people and the public to attend the historic event free of charge.
“Rivers State Government is currently playing host to African Universities Queens from 54 African countries and since their arrival they have been touring interesting sites in the state, carrying out charity works and familiarizing themselves with the people of Rivers State.
“This visit has a huge tourism mileage and Rivers State is glad that they are happy to be in our midst. This has put to shame all those who were discouraging them from coming to Rivers State” he said, noting that Rivers State will continue to be a great tourist destination in Africa.
