Soso Soberekon’s N500m defamation suit: Harrysong regains freedom

Nigerian singer, Harry Okiri popularly called Harrysong  has been released from police custody after being arrested over alleged defamatory statement made against music executive Soso Soberekon.

The ‘Beta Pikin’ singer confirmed his release in an Instagram post on Wednesday, where he also vowed to share details of the settlement.

“I’m out & Ok. As I no die. We’re good now. Details of our agreement & settlement, Live on my Instagram 11 pm tonight,” he wrote.

“Pls say a prayer for me. Wherever you are. Just a prayer, with love,” he wrote.

Harrysong was arrested one week after he alleged that Soso Soberekon sent assassins to kill him.

Recall that Harrysong was arrested by the Nigeria Police Force in Lagos State on Tuesday morning.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin of the Lagos State Police Command said the arrest was linked to the petition written against the singer by Soberekon.

Harrysong had during a talk show, tagged Soberekon as his enemy who attempted to assassinate him (Harrysong).

Reacting to the accusations, Soberekon, through his lawyers, sent a defamation notice to Harrysong, wherein he demanded for a retraction of the statement, an apology and N500,000,000 for compensation.
