Singer Nissi Ogulu, sister to Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, has vehemently denied viral reports claiming that their mother, Bose Ogulu, has been fired as Burna Boy’s manager.
The rumour gained traction after an alleged Instagram story post by Burna Boy suggesting a management change circulated online, fueled by an X (formerly Twitter) user, @Joyfultips, who posted: “Just heard Burna Boy fired his mom, this whole thing is getting crazier.”
Nissi, who is also a musician, quickly moved to quash the speculation. Quoting the user’s post, she reacted directly on her own social media platform with a decisive, one-word response: “FAKE NEWS.”
Bose Ogulu, popularly known as “Mama Burna,” has been a central figure in her son’s career, gaining international acclaim for her dynamic stage presence and managerial acumen.
The report about the alleged management shake-up emerged amidst wider controversy surrounding the superstar. There have been concurrent reports circulating that Burna Boy’s planned ‘No Sign of Weakness’ U.S. tour was recently cancelled on Wednesday evening over alleged low ticket sales, adding fuel to the ongoing public drama.
The official denial by Nissi attempts to stabilize the narrative surrounding the Ogulu family business interests as the artist navigates these recent setbacks.
