The management of Wisdom Gate International School, a prominent educational institution in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has officially confirmed the tragic passing of a pupil while in the school’s care. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through the local community, is currently the subject of an intense investigation by the relevant authorities.
In a formal communiqué issued on 8th April 2026, the school’s leadership expressed “profound grief” and extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, describing the loss as a deeply distressing event for the entire academic community.
According to the official statement, the child was attended to with the utmost urgency by the school’s staff and was promptly transported to a medical facility for emergency clinical attention. Despite these efforts, the child was later confirmed deceased.
The management further affirmed that the incident was immediately reported to the appropriate law enforcement and regulatory bodies to ensure a transparent and formal inquiry.
