Rivers State Govt Appoints Dr Wadike as Rector of Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic

The Rivers State Government has formally announced the appointment of Dr George Chile Wadike as the substantive Rector of the Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic (KenPoly), situated in Bori.

The appointment, which takes immediate effect, was made following a directive from the Executive Governor of Rivers State and Visitor to the Polytechnic, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.

The announcement was officially conveyed by the Chairman of the institution’s Governing Council, Professor Friday B. Sigalo. In a statement confirming the decision, Professor Sigalo noted that Dr Wadike has been duly appointed to steer the affairs of the Polytechnic during what he described as a “critical phase” of its institutional development and academic evolution.

Dr Wadike, an accomplished academic, now assumes the leadership of one of Rivers State’s premier tertiary institutions. KenPoly was established with the specific mandate of advancing technical and vocational education, ensuring that the state’s workforce remains aligned with contemporary industrial and manpower requirements.

Observers within the education sector suggest that the new Rector will be tasked with consolidating the institution’s recent gains in accreditation and infrastructure, while further enhancing its reputation as a centre of excellence for vocational training in the Niger Delta region.

The Rivers State Government has expressed its confidence that under Dr Wadike’s stewardship, the Polytechnic will continue to play a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the state through the provision of high-quality technical education.
