The Vice Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, (RSUST) Nkpolu Oroworukwo, Prof. Blessing Didia has advocated that Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital (BMSH), Kelsey Harrison Hospital, the Psychiatric Hospital and the Rivers State Dental and Maxilo facial hospital be converted to Rivers State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital.
At the Public Hearing on the proposed RSUST Teaching Hospital organized by the Rivers State House of Assembly, Prof. Didia disclosed that the Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike had given an approval to the institution’s request seeking for the conversion of the health facilities prior to the public hearing.
He said details of that approval was included in the Memorandum submitted to the House Committee on Health and urged the Lawmakers to also consent to it.
On his part, a member of the committee and lawmaker representing Degema Constituency, Hon. Farah Dagogo assured participants at the public hearing of adequate review of their requests.
