Lagos Teenager Wins ₦10 Million Grand Prize in National IT Challenge

Lagos, NigeriaAbdulhameed Boluwatife Ibrahim, a 16-year-old student from Platform College, Ipaja, Lagos, has clinched the ₦10 million grand prize at the Digital For All Challenge. This national Information Technology (IT) competition, sponsored by the UK and organized by Tech4DEV, saw Boluwatife outshine over 15,000 competitors across the country.

Boluwatife’s victory at the grand finale in Abuja followed his earlier successes at the Lagos State and South-West zonal stages.

The Director of Platform Schools, Dr. Bola Obe, celebrated the achievement as a testament to the school’s dedication to producing globally competitive students. “Boluwatife’s victory is not just for our school but for Nigeria. It proves that our investment in ICT education is producing future innovators,” Obe stated.

A Dream Come True

Visibly excited after receiving his hefty prize, Boluwatife expressed deep gratitude to his family and teachers. “This competition was tough, but my ICT teachers prepared me well. Winning ₦10 million feels like a dream come true,” he shared.

The success reinforces Platform Schools’ reputation as a leader in private education, following the recent launch of the Platform Information Technology Academy (PITA) and an A-Level Pre-University programme. The school has maintained its dominance in both ICT and chess competitions for the third consecutive year.
