Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has emphatically reiterated that his administration’s top priority remains the provision of democratic dividends to the people of the state.
The Governor’s resolve to uphold his social contract was restated during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch C, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Members deployed to Rivers State at the Permanent Orientation Camp on Friday, November 21, Africa Update reports.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, Governor Fubara affirmed his driving force is to be steadfast and resolute in delivering the best to the populace.
“My administration’s social contract with the good people of Rivers State to be steadfast and resolute in giving them the best of democracy dividends remains sacrosanct,” the Governor stated.
He further emphasized the state’s plan to partner with the NYSC and grant priority attention to the welfare of youths as a key pathway to achieving this goal.
“We will continue to give priority to the welfare of youths, especially Corps members, by providing them an enabling environment to discover and harness their God-given potentials,” he said.
Governor Fubara expressed confidence that the administration would fulfill its promise to uplift the quality of life for the youths, whom he described as the bedrock of society, and thereby “make Rivers State the envy of other States nationwide.”
In a related address, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mr. Moses Oleghe, admonished the newly sworn-in Corps members to take the orientation programme seriously.
He specifically urged them to focus on the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training, security lectures, and other activities throughout the camp period.
“Note that the service year is more than just a year of experience. It is a commitment to laying the groundwork for a more united and greater Nigeria,” Mr. Oleghe stated, challenging the Corps members to be exemplary, dedicated, and committed throughout their service year.
