Board Chairman appreciates teachers in migrant fishermen children schools

The Executive Chairman of the Rivers State Universal Basic Education Board Venerable Archdcn Fyneface Ackah has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of teachers serving in the Migrant Fishermen Children Schools in the State. Ven Akah made the commendation at a special meeting with the teachers at the conference Hall of the UBE headquarters in Port Harcourt.

The Executive Chairman said their understanding and approach to managing common challanges was evident of their commitment to work and urged them to excerise their stakeholders advocacy and sensitization skills to serve Community participation in the educational enterprise. The Educationist urged the head teachers of the schools to present written reports of the status of their schools to enable the board take reasonable action. Promising that, the board would come up with a prototype model schools in order to make the teachers more comfortable in the discharge of their duties.

Rivers State has about fifty two(52) Migrant Fishermen School in Eleven(11) upland and oceanic local government area. In another development, Venerable Fyneface Akah has advised religious organizations to fulfill their social action mission in the education sector through distinctive intervention in infrastructure and other area.

The UBE Chairman stated this when Christ embassy church paid him a courtesy call to brief him on back-to-school donations of school effects and infrastructure for Rivers State Universal Basic Education schools. Venerable Akah thanked the Christ Embassy Church and directed them to liaise with the Physical planning department of the board to ensure that infrastructure donations are consistent with the board standard.
