A suspected Internet fraudster, popularly called yahoo boy, has been caught with his girlfriend’s corpse while he was attempting to dump her in a bush. The suspect, who is now in the custody of Operatives of the Delta State Police Command, was apprehended on Thursday night, when a passerby spotted him with the corpse of his girlfriend, identified as Blessing Akpovwovwo.
Information available to Africa Update, reveals that the police was invited to the scene and the yahoo boy was taken into custody. Though the lifeless body of the lady was intact, sources said she might have been used for rituals. Other sources claimed that the deceased was pregnant, and it looked like a case of forced abortion to get the foetus for ritual purposes. It was further gathered that the private part of the corpse was covered with bloodstain.
Reacting to the incident, the Head of Ugono-Abraka community, Chief Samuel Umunadi, said he was notified of the lady’s murder by some vigilantes late Thursday night, adding that the sad development had thrown the community into mourning.
