Seven weeks after her marriage to a Niger State indigene, a woman identified as Fatima from Katsina State, has died in the hands of her husband’s first wife in Minna, Niger State. According to multiple sources, the incident occurred on Tuesday, March 23, when the first wife reportedly went to Fatima’s house and beat her to pulp, before setting her ablaze.
A family source, who spoke to newsmen, said the two wives were not living in the same house. He said: “They were not living in the same house but the first wife went to her house which is not far and beat her to death before locking her room up and setting her ablaze”. The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites on Wednesday, March 24, at Sabuwar Unguwa residential area in Katsina metropolis.
