Port Harcourt, Rivers State – April 23, 2025 – Tragedy unfolded at the Mile 3 motor park in Diobu, Port Harcourt, on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025, with the discovery of a deceased middle-aged woman inside a public restroom. Her identity remains unknown at this time.
Reports indicate that attendants managing the public convenience grew concerned when the woman, who had paid for its use, did not emerge after an extended period. Following several unanswered knocks on the door, they were compelled to force entry, at which point they discovered the woman deceased.
Mr. Chigozie Amadi, Chairman of the Mile 3 Park toilet, confirmed the incident to newsmen. He stated, “Yes, the incident is true. We do not know the woman. We are currently seeking means to contact her family. We have reported the matter to the Nkpolu Police Division, and officers are present at the scene.”
Africa Update has learned that the remains of the deceased have been transferred to a morgue by relevant government authorities. Investigations are expected to be underway to determine the cause of death and to identify the deceased.
