Scores killed in cult war in Rumuolumeni

No fewer than seven persons have been reportedly killed in a fierce cult war that has engulfed Mkpo and Mgboubohi communities at Rumuolumeni axis in Obio/ Akpo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to eyewitness report, trouble started last week Thursday, April 4, 2019, when a youth from Mgboubohi community went to Mkpo community to collect a community levy popularly referred to as matching ground levy from a developer.
Our source told Africa Update that the said youth, who is allegedly a member of Iceland cult group, was accosted by youths who are reportedly members of de bam cult group.
The source said attempts by the de bam members to butcher the Iceland member with axes and machetes was unsuccessful and he was reportedly dragged towards the waterfront when members of his cult group received information about the ordeal of their member and they consequently arrived at the waterfront and a gun battle ensued.
That incident according to our source has led to daily gun battle for supremacy between the cult groups.
As at the time of this report, most residents have fled their homes and economic activities in the area have come to a standstill.
