A native of Buguma community in Asari Toru Local Government Area, in Rivers State, Ibisaki Ikiriko, has been arrested by the Officers of the Police Command for Murder.
Africa Update gathered that Ikiriko, had stabbed his 33-year-old lover and mother of his two children, Sokari West, to death because she had gone out with friends on her birthday on Saturday, May 4, 2018, without cooking for him.
According to eyewitness account, trouble had started when she ate the food prepared by Ikiriko, on her return from the outing with friends.
He was said to have confronted her and a fight broke. She had allegedly broken a bottle in an attempt to defend herself, but he had collected the same bottle from her and stabbed her on her left leg.
She was abandoned outside the house, bleeding profusely.
Neighbours sensing grave danger, had persuaded him to take her for medical attention, which he did reluctantly.
He had reportedly abandoned her there and people who saw how critical her situation was, had to rush her from Buguma to Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, BMSH, in Port Harcourt, where she died.
Her corpse has been deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital mortuary, while the police has commenced investigation.
