Rivers Court remands suspests in prison custody for killing PDP chairman in Alakahia community

Five suspects who reportedly killed the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nwozuruka Anele, in Alakahia Community in Obio/Akpo Local Government Area, Rivers State, have been remanded in prison. The suspects, ThankGod Akani, Chibuchi Solomon-Festus, Blessing Ogbuagu, Bright Chima-Wali and Nnamdi Emenike and others now at large were charged with five count charge of allegedly conspiring and killing Anele at Alakahia Community on September 21, 2019.

The five suspects are also accused of belonging to the Iceland cult group. Africa Update gathered that they were arrested with firearms. When the charges were read, at the High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, the five suspects pleaded not guilty to the five counts and the presiding Judge, Justice Florence Fiberesima, ordered that the suspects be remanded at the Port Harcourt Correctional Facility and the case was adjourned to the 8th and 11th of February, 2021 for hearing.
