Police detectives attached to Omoba Division in Abia State, have smashed a four-man armed kidnap syndicate terrorizing Aba and its environs on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip off, the detectives invaded the syndicates’ hideout  in an uncompleted building at Umuajuju Ovungwu, Isiala-Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, to rescue their victim who was abducted  on July 18, 2017, in Osisioma Ngwa .
The kidnappers according to reports had abducted the Managing Director of Mba Hotels Aba, identified as Onyemaechi Mbamaonyeukwu Ijeoma, Â in his ash colour Nissan Infinity SUV with Reg. No. GWA 807 DH and held him hostage while negotiating for a ransom.
On sighting the police team, the kidnappers had engaged them in a shootout and  two of the Kidnappers later identified as Nwadibia and Monday were gunned down while others escaped with bullet wounds. The victim was rescued unhurt , while  one of the detectives sustained injuries.
Items recovered at the hideout include the victim’s SUV,  two motorcycles, and four GSM phones.
