The Nigeria Police Force, Rivers State Command has revealed officers of the command neutralized three (3) suspected kidnappers at Isiodu forest in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
While addressing the press on Friday 16,June 2023, the state commissioner of Police, Nwonyi Emeka Polycarp disclosed that at about 3:30pm on 16, June,2023, operatives of the command stormed a kidnap hideout in Isiodu, Emohua LGA based on credible intelligence.
The hoodlums on sighting the operatives, opened fire and a gun battle ensued, which inflicted fatal injuries on three of the hoodlums. The suspects were confirmed dead after being rushed to the University Of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital.
According to Nwonyi, 8 magazines, 70 rounds of live ammunition and 10 cartridges were recovered.
CP Nwonyi further reiterated the command’s resolve to make Rivers State crime free, adding that the police will leave no stone unturned in the process of curbing crime and criminality in the state.
