Police arrests suspected ritualist, recover coffin, fetish items

A man 30 year old man suspected to be a ritualist has been arrested by the police in Lagos after an uncompleted building used as den was raided by detectives.

The man identified as Dona Asogbo, according to police report, was arrested around 6am on March 21, at Panuse area of Okoafo, Morogbo, a Lagos suburb.

His arrest followed complaints by residents, who suspected that the suspect and one Peter Alogbo were carrying out unwholesome activities inside the building.

The police, disclosed that their activities caused fear and panic among the residents who hinted detectives about the uncompleted building.

Consequently, a team of policemen were deployed to the place and Asogba was arrested while his alleged accomplice fled, said spokesman Bala Elkana.

Elkana said the team recovered a mini wooden coffin and assorted fetish items from the shrine, adding that the place was suspected to have been used for criminal purposes.
