Notorious Kidnap Suspect ‘Ubong Boy’ Apprehended, Human Remains Recovered

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has recorded a significant breakthrough in its campaign against violent crime with the arrest of a long-sought kidnap kingpin. Ubong Michael, popularly known by the alias “Ubong Boy,” was apprehended following a targeted operation by command operatives.

The breakthrough was confirmed in a formal statement issued on Thursday in Uyo by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John.

Michael had reportedly been on the Command’s “wanted list” for a considerable period due to his alleged involvement in a series of abductions and high-profile crimes across the state. His arrest has led to the recovery of several incriminating and disturbing items, which are now being held as exhibits for the ongoing investigation.

The items recovered from the suspect include: A human skull and various skeletal remains, A quantity of live cartridges, and A lethal dagger.

The Command noted that the suspect is currently in custody and is undergoing interrogation to determine the extent of his criminal network and the origins of the human remains found in his possession.

DSP John emphasised that this arrest underscores the unwavering commitment of the Akwa Ibom State Police to rid the state of criminal elements and ensure the safety of its residents. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely information to aid in the maintenance of law and order.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation to face charges related to kidnapping and illegal possession of human parts and firearms.
