As part of efforts to rid society particularly Rivers State of harmful drugs, the State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has outlined achievements recorded in November, in line with its core duty. A statement signed on December 9th, by DCN Emmanuel Ogbumgbada, Deputy State Commander, Media and Advocacy, stated that a pregnant female drug baron was arrested in Okrika local Government Area of the State.

Meanwhile, the Command arrested twenty-eight (28) suspects comprising twenty-one (21) males and seven (7) females, including a pregnant woman, kate Ibinabo, 39years, arrested with 34.3kg of Cannabis Sativa at Okrika LGA. Total drug seizure during the month of November is 25.426kg such as cocaine, heroin, Cannabis Sativa, methamphetamine (aka Mkpurunmiri), tramadol, Diazapam, Rohypnol and Exol-5.
The Command also conducted anti-drug abuse campaign to various schools, communities, NGO’s, religious groups and corporate organisations in Rivers State.
The State Commander, Commander Ahmed Mamuda, while commending the people of Rivers state for corporating with the Command in terns of information sharing, advised Rivers people to be Vigilant as we approach the yuletide season. He also assured the people that the Agency will increase her offensive action against illicit drug dealers so as to make the season peaceful for every body living in Rivers State.
