It was a black Monday for Bonny residents as Sea pirates attacked and hijacked a commercial boat travelling from Bonny to Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, abducting the driver and all the passengers.
Africa Update gathered the pirates attack occurred early Monday morning, causing apprehension amongst sea travellers. A source further disclosed that the boat was the first to depart the island for Port Harcourt.
This attack is coming barely one month after gunmen invaded Banigo’s village, kidnapping some persons who were at the funeral of a community leader, Late Kenneth Banigo, on September 12. Those who were kidnapped are yet to regain their freedom, despite frantic efforts by family members and security operatives to secure their release.
