Four persons suspected to be sea pirates are now in the custody of the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder.
They were arrested along the waterfront of Rumuolumeni community in Obio /Akpor local government area of Rivers State.
The base operating officer NNS Pathfinder, Commander Ikenna, confirming the arrest to journalists, said the four persons are responsible for recent attacks around Iwofe axis of the state.
He said the suspects who confessed to being members of dey gbam cult group would be handed over to the police for further investigation.
His words: “At about 08:45 Wednesday, 8th August 2018, four suspected sea robbers who are also members of the dreaded dey gbam cult were arrested at Iwofe waterfront by one of the base patrol elements.
“During the investigation, they confessed to being members of the dey gbam cult .
“The four suspects are hereby handed over to the Nigerian police to enable the Nigerian police conduct further investigation with the view to possible prosecution “.
