The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amba Asuquo, has assured family members of Mr. Christopher Hobobo, that the police would apprehend his killers.
The former Acting State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Bayelsa State, Mr. Hobobo, who hailed from Agbere town in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, was allegedly assassinated at his residence on PDP Road, Yenagoa, the state capital, in the early hours of Wednesday.
It was reported that Hobobo’s gate was forced open by the assailants before gaining access to his sitting room, where they allegedly stabbed him several times in the chest.
Family members were said to have notified the police and a team led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ekeki Division, was said to have removed the deceased’s corpse amidst wailing from sympathisers .
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.
