The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 38 year-old Islamic cleric, identified as Mustapha, for having sex with his wife’s 17 year-old younger sister, on February 16, 2019 at Bariga Area of the state.
Africa Update gathered that neighbors had caught the cleric having sex with the girl and that had led to his arrest and detention at the Bariga police station.
Police source stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had been sleeping with the girl in the past anytime his wife is out of the house.
The police said “The suspect initially denied the act but later opened up that he only had sex with the girl once and not thrice as alleged.
“The girl has been directed to undergo a medical examination at the Mirabel Centre to determine the extent of the damage done to her.
“Further investigation are still ongoing before case is transferred to court.”
During interrogation, the girl narrated how her sister’s husband used to defile her and that she had confided in two of their neighbours but that the women did not believe her story.
Upon arrest, the Child Protection Agency (CPA), Shomolu unit began investigation into the case of defilement against Mustapha
