At least three suspected cultists have lost their lives during a bloody clash last Saturday.
The suspected cultists were killed in a supremacy battle between Greenland and Iceland cult groups on East-West Road section of Ahoada East Local Government Area, in Rivers State, Africa Update reports.
According to a source, it took the intervention of Ahoada East Police Division led by the Divisional Police Officer and his team restore normalcy to the area.
The source said, but for the timely arrival of the DPO and his men, the cultists would have overrun the community during the clash.
Africa Update gathered that there was pandemonium as people scampered for safety while shop owners hurriedly closed for the day, as the cultists engaged in sporadic shooting.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, identified two of the dead cultists as Mr Azhinibudu Biko popularly known as Yankee aged 35 and Gboka Odoi aged 37.
The PPRO said the deceased were notorious criminals terrorizing the Ahoada section of the East West road and it’s environs, stressing that efforts are on to arrest fleeing members of the cult group.
