A human right group has confirmed the arrest of a 60-year-old security officer identified as Mgbechi Wekwea, a staff in the security department of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education Rumulomeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, accused of abducting and raping a teenager at gunpoint.
Africa Update gathered from a Facebook post made on Friday, by the Human Right Group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Campaign, that the suspect would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, of the Rivers state Police Command on Friday.
Further details available to Africa Update revealed that the suspect had allegedly abducted and raped a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint because her mother had reportedly refused to marry him.
