My sincere condolences to Nigerian Youths

I feel so bad with the current trend of events from the *#END SARS Protest*. I’m really happy with the turn out of my fellow youths and students to lend our voices to critical discussions on issues confronting us as a Nation. However, I am pained seeing some of the youths die while carrying out peaceful protests across the nation.

This development is unfortunate, considering the progress made by our Nation’s Democracy. It is difficult believing that “that this is happening in Nigeria”. I believe that No body deserves to die while expressing patriotism and walking the talk to show the love of Nigeria. We are all desiring a better future for the Nation of which the youth are key stakeholders. Rather what we are seeing is that our youths are dying in the process.

My fellow youths, I appreciate you all for joining the fight to secure our future. I am happy with the different ideas through which we have show cased our thoughts of standing up for our rights. We cannot refrain at this point!I am appealing to the responsible  government agencies, our leaders who we are looking up to at this point- our governors and president to provide us the needed supportive environment for us to express ourselves in the fight for better Nigeria by ensuring the different organs of government do not directly work against us at this point.

As much as possible, the youths should be maximally engaged not through the use of force, as we chat the course for a new Nigeria. Comr. Tonye Tom-George,National President, Nigerian Youth and Students #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeraNOW #ALutaContinua #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigera #EndSARSImmediately
