Rivers State Govt concludes plans to sell Airport Hotel, others

The Rivers State Government has dropped the hint that some state owned assets may soon be privatised.

The privatization arrangement was disclosed by the commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Hon. Bright Jacob, during the oversight visit of the Rivers State House of Assembly committee on Commerce and Industry .

Jacob said the Port Harcourt Flour Mills,  Port Harcourt International Airport Hotel, Delta Hotels Limited and the shopping complex along Aba Road, constructed during the administration of Chief Celestine Omehia would be sold to private investors.

He further revealed that most of the staff at the ministry were redundant as a result of the transfer of activities such as registration of business premises, renewal of business license and development of database for business operating in the state, to the Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue.
