The Amanyanabo of the Source (Elem Kalabari, Torusaramapiri), Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye Amakiri I, has expressed profound appreciation to the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for the reconstruction and commissioning of the Buguma–Tema–Abonnema Road.
The traditional ruler described the road project as a significant intervention that would improve transportation and connectivity across several Kalabari communities, while also contributing to enhanced security and economic activities within the area.
In a statement, Dokubo-Asari commended Governor Fubara for what he described as a demonstration of his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development and the improvement of the welfare of communities across Rivers State.
According to him, the reconstruction of the Buguma–Tema–Abonnema Road represents an important milestone for the Kalabari Kingdom, particularly because of its potential to facilitate easier movement of people, goods and services between communities.
He noted that improved road infrastructure would strengthen economic activities, promote greater interaction among communities and contribute to the overall development of the Kalabari Kingdom and Rivers State.
“Your Excellency, this landmark project demonstrates your administration’s commitment to improving security, transportation, strengthening economic activities, and enhancing connectivity among communities in the Kalabari Kingdom and Rivers State at large,” Dokubo-Asari said.
The traditional ruler also praised the governor for the numerous completed and ongoing infrastructure projects across Kalabari land, describing the interventions as important contributions to the development of the region.
Particular mention was made of the Trans-Kalabari Road, which is expected to provide an important link between Kalabari communities and the Port Harcourt mainland.
Dokubo-Asari said the various infrastructure projects would have a lasting impact on the people by opening up communities, improving accessibility and creating opportunities for increased commercial activities.
He therefore expressed appreciation to Governor Fubara for what he described as his vision and commitment to addressing critical infrastructure needs across the state.
He further prayed for divine wisdom, strength and good health for the governor as he continues to steer the affairs of Rivers State.
“May God Almighty continue to grant you wisdom, strength and good health as you skillfully navigate the governance of Rivers State,” he said.
