High Chief Ejimkeleye Gabriel Ajoku of Rumuodunwere Community, Elelenwo Clan in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, has raised the alarm over an alleged threat to his life and that of his family.
The UK-based traditional ruler made the allegation while speaking with newsmen in Port Harcourt. He accused Chief Solomon Chuku, also known as Sarima One of Orokpotoma, of being behind the threat.
According to Eze Ajoku, the disagreement began in the United Kingdom when Chief Chuku visited his residence and handed him some items to deliver to their owners in Port Harcourt.
He said he agreed to facilitate the delivery but refused Chief Chuku’s request to remove some items from the package.
Eze Ajoku alleged that upon his return to Nigeria, trouble started when his younger brother went to Chief Chuku’s residence in GRA, Port Harcourt, to collect the items sent from the UK.
“Instead of delivering the items, Chief Solomon Chuku attacked my younger brother, broke the windscreen and side mirror of his car, and threatened to deal with him severely,” Eze Ajoku alleged.
The traditional ruler called on the people of Elelenwo Clan and Rumuodunwere Community to intervene and call Chief Chuku to order.
He questioned why an APC chieftain in the state would engage in such conduct, and warned that Chief Chuku should be held responsible should anything happen to him and his family both in the UK and in Nigeria.
When contacted, Chief Solomon Chuku denied all the allegations against him. He described them as a conspiracy and urged journalists to always verify facts before publication.
