Nyesom Wike to compensate those affected

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, dropped this hint on Monday after inspection tour of the on-going work on some projects.

Accordingly, a primary school, Chief’s Palace and other structures which would be affected by the road construction would be appropriately compensated, the Minister assured.

Wike appealed to members of the Gishiri community to cooperate with government to provide the road infrastructure because they were the major beneficiaries; adding that the project would provide street lights and other facilities in the community for their good.

He expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the construction of the N16 road, access roads, Interchange, as well as the Judges and Justices Quarters in Abuja inspected.

“The interchange connects the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway and Shehu Shagari way in Katampe District,” the Minister noted.

He expressed confidence on completion of the projects in May next year.

His words: “You can attest to the fact that the job is moving fast. I am very much impressed. The progress of work on the access road to Judges’ and Justices’ quarters is amazing. We are happy. With this level of work, by May next year, the job will be ready and handed over”.

The Minister stressed that the value on property in the area has also gone up because of the projects; stating that that was the essence of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, even as he thanked the President for giving him the opportunity to serve.
