The central working committee and subcommittee Chairmen for the burial of the longest-serving Monarch in Rivers State, King Professor Theophilus J.T Princewill, Amachree the XI and Amanyanabo of the Kalabari Kingdom has been inaugurated in Buguma City, the headquarters of Asari Toru local Government Area, signalling the commencement of activities for the burial of the Monarch.
The traditional leadership of the kingdom assembled to inaugurate committees to give a befitting funeral to the monarch and renowned academic who died at the age of 90, after about 18 years on the throne.
The throne seats inside the King Amachree Memorial Hall facing backwards, an indication that it is vacant.
Marking the end of an era and the journey to the start of another comes with hope for growth in the peace and prosperity of Kalabari Kingdom.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the inauguration, the regent of the KALABARI kingdom, Dr Charles Numbere Princewill said he is expecting maximum commitment with a view to have a PAN Kalabari Nation burial ceremonies.
Dr Charles Numbere Princewill further said the burial celebration will foster peace and unity amongst Kalabari people and Ijaws in general
The son of the late Monarch and the chairman of burial committee, Prince Tonye Princewill also said the burial will demonstrate unity, peace and as well showcase the cultural heritage of the Kalabari kingdom.
On his part, the co-Chairman of the burial committee David Briggs said he expects the entire Kalabari Nation to participate fully with a view to having a befitting burial ceremony for the late Monarch.
Meanwhile, the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAM, Bishop Dokiboeriya Kaladokubo, called on the inaugurated committee to ensure that the ceremony is conducted peacefully and assured that the Christian Community will participate fully in the burial.
