Boasting the credentials of being the First Google Reference School in Nigeria, staffed with Google Certified Educators as teachers, and over 700 students from crèche level to high school with the options of attending a boarding or day campus. Students are equipped to learn using sophisticated software such as Chromebook to access online textbooks, collaborate with peers, submit assignments and communicate with teachers, it is no wonder why Bloombreed Schools is celebrating 25 years in the education industry.
This prestigious institution was founded in 1998 by the late Mrs Olufunke Sunmonu, and has been under the care of her daughter, Bola Njideofor and the Chairman Mr Mutiu Sunmonu following her death in 2017. Bola Njideofor delivered an inspiring speech at the 25th Anniversary Celebration recalling the school’s humble beginnings and its remarkable journey of 25 years.
The 25th Anniversary ceremony took place on the 12th of September, 2023 with great pomp amidst an air of jubilation shared by all present, which showed the true reflection of the institution’s vibrant and enthusiastic spirit. The entire campus was adorned with banners, balloons, and colorful decorations, creating an atmosphere of joy and celebration. The students, teachers, staff, parents, and alumni were all eagerly engaged in numerous exciting activities. Distinguished guests, including renowned educationists, benefactors, and alumni were in attendance as the ceremony commenced with the school choir’s captivating performance which set the tone of gratitude for the day.
One major highlight of the day was a quiz competition organized for the parents and guests where they downloaded and used one of the apps developed by the students to compete. After which students from different grade levels and cultural backgrounds showcased their exceptional musical, dance, poetic, and dramatic skills leaving the audience in awe. The performances reflected the school’s commitment to nurturing not only academic but also artistic talents.
The Bloombreed Schools’ 25th anniversary celebration also provided a platform for alumni, spanning the last two and a half decades, to reconnect and reminisce. An alumni reunion was organized, bringing together former students both virtually and physically from different corners of the world. This reunion allowed them to share their experiences and success stories and acknowledge the school’s contribution to their personal and professional growth. To keep the energy going, Nigeria’s renowned singer, songwriter and music producer Timi Danilo thrilled the guests, parents, and students of Bloombreed Schools to wonderful performances.
Furthermore, as part of its commitment to responsibility, the management of the Bloombreed Schools honoured their teachers and staff who have been dedicated to their mission of transforming lives and impacting knowledge with awards in various categories. Of these awards won, the one with the most renown was received by a female teacher who has been with the school for 23 years and counting.
